SOCOTEC UK expands its surveying capabilities with acquisition of Aspect Land & Hydrographic Surveys Ltd.

SOCOTEC UK, a leader in testing, inspection, and certification (TIC) within the construction and environmental sectors, is pleased to announce the acquisition of Aspect Land & Hydrographic Surveys Ltd., a prominent coastal surveying company based in Irvine, Scotland. Aspect is renowned for its high-resolution hydrographic, land, and utility surveying services, and this acquisition marks a significant enhancement to SOCOTEC UK’s surveying capabilities.

Aspect specialises in a wide range of surveying services, including hydrographic surveys, oceanographic services, geophysical surveys, environmental surveys, ROV inspections, LiDAR mapping, and utility and land surveying. The company is known for its use of advanced technology, such as UAVs and multi-purpose vessels, to deliver high-resolution data and integrated turn-key solutions. Their client base spans several industries, including utilities, ports and harbours, defence, renewables, environmental sectors, construction, buildings, mines, and quarries.

The acquisition strengthens SOCOTEC UK’s existing land-based surveying services and opens up new opportunities within the growing and specialist surveying market. It also provides a platform for local expansion in Scotland, aligning with SOCOTEC’s strategic goals for regional growth.

The acquisition of Aspect follows a series of strategic acquisitions by SOCOTEC UK, including Building Pathology specialists Hutton + Rostron (H+R), remote monitoring and geospatial solutions experts IETG, 40Seven in 2023, and Impulse Geophysics in 2024. These additions are driving SOCOTEC UK’s continued expansion and positioning as a comprehensive service provider across multiple industries.
