New Range of Mobile Scrap Shears Launched

Sep 23 2013

Recently Copex (UK) unveiled a new range of mobile scrap shears named Reflex. Especially developed for the compacting and shearing of welded structures, white goods, car bodies, collected scrap and all kinds of non-ferrous metals, the Reflex is ideal for processing rapidly and economically scrap materials. This machine is equipped with an extremely efficient shear and is also perfectly suitable to produce high quality bales. Reflex machines are available with a cutting force of 500t, 650t and 900t.

Frédéric Malin, C.E.O. of COPEX, has presented his new range of mobile scrap shears in his factory in Caudan (Morbihan, France). "Considering the increasing need for our customers to optimise their investments costs in a difficult current economic situation, Copex aimed at proposing a new range of machines combining mobility and robustness. We naturally got inspiration from the benefits of our Lidex range of heavy-duty machines.

"In 2011, Copex launched their new range of Lidex scrap shears designed for the processing of heavy and bulky scrap materials" » comments Frédéric Malin. "As Lidex was a great success, we thought that this new range of Reflex machines should benefit from the technical innovations developed for our heavy scrap shears. It is a première on a mobile scrap shear."

Improvements to the new Reflex incude: Integration with an innovative slides guiding system guaranteeing high cutting performance over the time and maintenance costs by 3; Balanced distribution of cutting efforts considerably increases the reliability of the shear frame; The Reflex 900 produces the most powerful box closing force presently existing in the market for mobile scrap shears. Through the innovative design of the wings, scrap materials are optimally wrapped, the closing efforts are maximised at the end of the closing process and the cycle times are considerably reduced; Priority was given to the comfort in operation through optimisation of operational noise control (by means of sound-proofing materials, acoustic panels) and an optimal accessibility of the parts and control elements of the machine (by means of large opening panels, platform).

In order to meet the specific needs of the recyclers, the range of Reflex scrap shears can be delivered in mobile or semi-mobile versions. "In mobile configuration the scrap shears are supplied with 3, 4 or 6 road axles depending on the model, and can go very easily from one place to another one" explains Nicolas Bourbey, Copex sales manager. "The Reflex range also exists in semi-mobile version, equipped with optional hydraulic legs with two positions for a fast and easy loading of the machine onto a low loader."
