Waste Management
The Green Upgrade of South-East Europe
Dec 12 2012
Bulgaria emits roughly 3 million tons of household waste, of which a mere 5% had been recycled in contrast to the European Union request to process 50% of the volume. 23 new landfills should be built up till the end of 2013. The new Waste Management Act obliges municipalities to collect separately bio waste from public parks and gardens and considerable investments in composting facilities are going to be made.
Currently there is not enough recycling capacity in Bulgaria and this is a wide open market niche for foreign manufacturers, suppliers and investors.
‘Save the Planet’ (South-East European Waste Management & Recycling Conference and Exhibition) will present the opportunities for implementation of technologies and equipment at the local level and win-win partnerships with companies from SE Europe. The event organized by Via Expo will be held in the period 29-31 May 2013, Sofia, Bulgaria. It will bring togather experts and decision-makers, involved in the sectors of waste management, recycling, industries with direct pollution impact and local authorities.
