ADAS joins Carbon Disclosure Project in the launch of a new CDP Response Check service
May 12 2011
ADAS, has received excellent feedback from the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) for their outstanding progress in understanding the impacts of climate change.
Richard Laverick Director of Sustainability at ADAS said: “We are delighted with the result as it reflects the effort and focus we have placed on understanding the business impacts of climate change”.
The CDP provides an Organisational Carbon Appraisal report (OCA) as feedback so that companies can benchmark performance against previous years and the sector average. The report includes analysis covering areas as diverse as leadership, governance, risk assessment and emissions reporting with the aim of capturing the way an organisation mitigates to achieve a low carbon culture.
Richard explained: “Our OCA graph shows that ADAS received the highest score in seven out of our nine core business areas placing us well above the sector average.”
The report issued to ADAS shows they have improved their performance in every key response area over the last year with a better understanding of climate change related risk, opportunities, business strategy and emissions reporting demonstrating real leadership in their sector.
The strong result places ADAS in an excellent position to partner CDP with a new Response Check service that was launched Monday 11th April. Prior to final submission to CDP, the new service provides respondents with an external check that can be performed to ensure their response is as complete as possible.
The new service is a significant initiative designed to improve the quality of response to CDP leading to more complete returns and greater understanding of how businesses are acting to address the impacts of climate change.
Richard added:
“Corporate sustainability is very important to ADAS and the clients for which we work. This is welcome affirmation of our dedication to understanding climate change and reducing business related carbon emissions.”
