Dust Suppression Solution for Mines and Quarries
May 31 2013
Dust suppression units from Minetek (Australia) have been designed to be economical and feasible for mining operations to help create as much profit on their coal as possible.
Using precisely controlled dispersion of water molecules to defeat dust problems, Minetek dust suppression units (DSUs) are provided as standalone or configured as truck mounted options for greater transportability.
Available in a fixed position version which is a pole-mounted unit, while the other is a more mobile trailer-mounted version, the Minetek DSU has output power that can project water at a distance up to 250m.
Suitable for the suppression of both dust and odours, the Minetek DSUs are extremely portable and adaptable to many differing working environments to maintain occupational health and safety standards for employees as well as the local community environment.
The system works because the size of the water molecules created by the DSU matches the size of the powder/dust it is treating.
It handles even the very finest dust particles using a combination of different sized droplets
They have low noise levels and high power output, with a wide range of angle and elevation while being easy to use.
Various versions are available with protection rating to IP 66, a 340° range of rotation and an elevation ranging from -20° to +45°. Water consumption ranges between 15-70 litres per minute.
Options include a multifunction portable radio-control handpiece, electronic water valves, automated rotation and elevation, a fluid doing system to introduce additives for dust suppression or odour control, generators, water tanks, hoses and pipework.
