Increased Water Treatment Efficiency with New Fibre

Launched at Aquatech China this week, Dow’s (USA) next generation industrial and municipal ultrafiltration water treatment modules are already bringing in the accolades, receiving the show’s “Best Technology Innovation Award” in the membrane category. The IntegraFlux Ultrafiltration (UF) Modules from Dow Water & Process Solutions, a business unit of The Dow Chemical Company feature XP Fiber, a high-performance, breakthrough fibre that delivers high quality water at a lower cost.

With up to 35 percent higher permeability[1] than previous generation ultrafiltration fibre, XP Fiber provides higher flux, higher water recovery, lower waste, and reduced energy use – providing industry leading productivity with a small footprint.

“The new XP Fiber boosts UF productivity and efficiency while helping to lower capital and operating expenses – ultimately improving water treatment system operation while lowering the cost of water,” said Cedella Beazley, business unit director for Filtration at Dow Water & Process Solutions. “We’re excited to bring this generation of ultrafiltration technology to market to continue to help our customers address water challenges and more stringent water treatment standards around the world.”

IntegraFlux Modules and IntegraPac Skids with XP Fiber are an excellent choice for industrial and municipal markets that are demanding higher productivity water filtration solutions. Water treatment plants will have the ability to lower their operational and capital costs. The IntegraFlux modules can operate up to 40 percent higher flux while producing the same transmembrane pressure (TMP) and generate up to 30 percent less wastewater without sacrificing filtrate water quality.[2] Offering an industry leading membrane area combined with high permeability fibers that provide economical and efficient membrane system design, modules with XP Fiber are excellent for systems requiring a small footprint.
