New Addition to Reverse Osmosis Family
Jul 08 2014
Dow Water & Process Solutions (USA), a business unit of Dow, introduced a new member to the DOW FILMTEC Reverse Osmosis (RO) product family with 500 gallons per day (GPD) residential drinking water elements. The new element was showcased at Booth 2.208, Brand Zone, Hall 1, during Aquatech China 2014, June 25-27, at the Shanghai World Expo and Convention Center.
A leader in the water treatment industry for more than 30 years, DW&PS featured technologies that help increase water supply and contribute to China’s drive towards green GDP, helping “Make Real Progress.” The FILMTEC 500 GPD residential RO elements will help improve the livelihood of Chinese residents through advanced membrane technology.
“Residents in China are seeking technologies to ensure their home drinking water is pure and safe,” remarks Christina Fang, Greater China commercial director for Dow Water & Process Solutions. “The new FILMTEC 500 GPD residential RO elements does exactly that. It provides a reliable water stream under a wide range of water conditions. The high flow design of the product enables OEMs to use a tankless design for their water purification units, reducing risks for bio-fouling. In addition, its high salt rejection can help ensure water safety as people in China face various drinking water challenges.”
FILMTEC 500 GPD residential RO elements are Dow’s latest innovation to facilitate the production of high-quality safe potable water. These robust elements use a new membrane chemistry, which maximises performance through balanced flow and high rejection, all in a compact, space-saving design that allows for consistent quick refill with no intermediary tank. The new membrane chemistry is also more sustainable in that it helps utilise water more efficiently, leading to increased system recovery.
“FILMTEC residential RO elements will help produce potable water that tastes better, smells better and has fewer impurities to help bring clean drinking water to greater Asia,” said Lance Johnson, global business director for RO and Asia Pacific commercial director of DW&PS. “We combine the power of science and technology with our global resources and localised expertise to develop water treatment technologies, such as the FILMTEC 500 GPD RO elements, which offer a sustainable solution to combat global water scarcity.”
The new FILMTEC 500 GPD joins Dow’s other residential RO products, including FILMTEC 75 GPD, which was introduced in 2013 featuring the highest salt rejection that the industry has seen so far.
