New Hydro-Brake Optimum Launch at IFAT, 7 – 11 May
May 02 2012
Hydro International (UK) is launching the Hydro Brake Optimum, a new flow control that represents a major advance in vortex technology at IFAT 2012. Hydro-Brake Optimum promises to set new design and performance standards for surface water, foul and combined sewer systems.
The Hydro-Brake Optimum will be revealed to visitors on Stand A1 231 at the show. The launch represents a significant milestone in the development of the vortex-flow technology first pioneered by Hydro in the 1980s and backed by its investment in technological research and development ever since.
The key to the new Hydro-Brake Optimum is its flexible unit sizing, which enables fine-tuning according to the site priorities. For example, it may be important to maximise hydraulic performance or to choose a more compact design to account for site constraints such as pipe diameter or chamber retrofit.
From now on, each bespoke Hydro-Brake Optimum can be designed to perfectly balance flow rates and surface water storage requirements to the conditions of a development site. Hydro’s existing range of Hydro-Brake Flow Controls already provides significant savings in surface water storage over conventional flow controls. Now the Hydro-Brake Optimum offers up to a further 15% saving when compared to other vortex flow control devices.
By saving on surface water storage, Hydro-Brake Optimum therefore promises outstanding savings in excavation costs and frees up more land for building to maximise the developers’ Return on Investment.
Hydro will also be promoting its Downstream Defender advanced vortex separator proven to achieve outstanding levels of performance in the removal of silts, sediments and pollutants from stormwater, even in tropical conditions. The Downstream Defender has recently passed stringent trials for use in the control of highway runoff in Malaysia.
