Membranes Introduced at Aquatech Amsterdam
Nov 05 2013
At Aquatech Amsterdam (Stand 06.302) QUA (USA), a leading-edge developer of advanced membrane products for water and wastewater treatment applications, will introduce the CeraQ™ line of ceramic membrane modules, available in four sizes with surface area range of 0.5m2 to 4.7 m2.
CeraQ modules offer superior performance in challenging oil removal applications and are ideal for wastewater recycle / reuse applications in a wide range of industries such as upstream oil & gas, petrochemicals, refinery, food & beverage, and textiles. Each CeraQ module is available in four different pore sizes: 0.4, 0.05, 0.01 and 0.005 micron. This unique option provides great flexibility to users in designing the treatment system for applications covering filtration spectrum of micro to ultrafiltration.
Other features of CeraQ modules include their durability and material stability in harsh environments, as well as the ability of the membranes to tolerate cleaning with aggressive solvents if required.
“The addition of CeraQ to QUA’s portfolio advances our company’s mission of developing innovative membrane products to treat challenging waters. CeraQ is ideal for applications where conditions are not well suited for polymeric membranes such as wastewater with high fouling and/or high process temperatures,” said V J Nathan, Technical Director, QUA.
QUA’s products are available globally, with installations at numerous sites in the USA, Europe and Asia. The company recently received the 2013 Frost & Sullivan New Product Innovation Award for Industrial Water & Wastewater Treatment Technology, North America, for both its FEDI® and Q-SEP® Hollow Fiber Ultrafiltration Modules. QUA also recently introduced MEGA FEDI and FEDI-Rx products for heavy industrial and pharmaceutical industry applications.
