Maynilad selects Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies to design and build two MBBR Sewage Treatment Plants
Nov 14 2011
OTV, a subsidiary of Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies, in partnership with civil contractor AG Araja Construction, have been awarded two contracts by Maynilad Water Services Inc. (Maynilad) for the design and build of San Antonio and Del Monte Sewage Treatment Plants.
Maynilad is the water and wastewater services provider for the 17 cities and municipalities that comprise the West Zone of the greater Metro Manila area. With limited available space at San Antonio and Del Monte, Maynilad was looking for a compact and efficient solution to build a sewage treatment plant at the sites. Veolia patented AnoxKaldnes™ MBBR process has been selected thanks to its compactness, robust and reliable performance.
OTV will provide the design, procurement, installation and commissioning of the two Sewage Treatment Plants, including liquid treatment stream, sludge handling facilities, odor control and treatment, and treated effluent discharge.
Designed for capacities of 3,300 m³/day for San Antonio Sewage Treatment Plant, and 3,500 m³/day for Del Monte Sewage Treatment Plant, each facility will include a new inlet plant, preliminary treatment, AnoxKaldnes™ MBBR biological treatment as the core treatment process and UV disinfection for the wastewater treatment line, along with an odor treatment system and noise abatement measures.
The two new wastewater treatment plants are scheduled to be commissioned in 2012. OTV will operate and maintain both plants for the first year after the completion of construction.
