Carbon Neutrality to be a key focus of Eco Expo Asia 2023

Carbon neutrality will be the central focus of Eco Expo Asia 2023, scheduled to be held from October 26 to 29 at the AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong. The final day of the event, October 29, will be open to the public, and online Click2Match business matching services will continue until November 6. With both the Hong Kong and Mainland China governments aiming to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 and 2060 respectively, this year's fair will delve into the green innovations that will transform these aspirations into reality.

The Chinese government, in its pursuit of carbon neutrality by 2060, has been actively promoting innovation across various industries. In the energy sector alone, the country achieved a notable milestone in 2022, with 152 million kilowatts of newly installed power generation capacity coming from renewable sources, accounting for 76.2% of the total capacity. 

There is a global collaborative effort underway to combat carbon emissions, and Eco Expo Asia 2023 is set to contribute to this endeavor. The exhibition's theme, "Taking the Leap towards Carbon Neutrality," aims to bring together renowned brands, experts, and academics in a single venue to showcase the latest green products and technologies, discuss emerging trends, and develop lasting solutions to address the climate crisis. The event will feature a wide array of products and solutions related to green buildings and energy efficiency, green transportation, green finance, ESG-related services, and more.

Reflecting on last year's show, Mr. Frank Chau, the Business Development Manager at Nishitani (Asia) Limited, highlighted the value of Eco Expo Asia as a platform to introduce eco-friendly coatings to buyers from diverse sectors. The event facilitated the establishment of over 100 new contacts with buyers from property management companies, universities, building contractors, engineers, interior designers, and ESG consultants. The overwhelmingly positive responses from buyers demonstrated their eagerness to learn more about the showcased coatings.

Eco Expo Asia 2023 will take place from October 26 to 29, 2023 in Hong Kong, with online services extending until November 6. The exhibition is jointly organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, and co-organized by the Environment and Ecology Bureau of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR).
