ISO 9000 Certification Acheived
Nov 13 2012
Modular Wind Energy (USA), a manufacturer of innovative rotor blades for large-size wind turbines, has recently obtained the ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management Systems compliant certification from Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance (LRQA).
These are a group of standards over seeing quality management systems. They are offered to help companies ensure that their processes are consistent and robust across the whole company to offer their customers a competent service.
In order to achieve the ISO 9001:2008 certification, Modular Wind Energy had to go through a nine month process including the implementation of a formal quality management system, robust employee training on formal operating procedures, and implementation of measurement systems related to quality. The whole process finished with the LRQA taking a 5 day audit of Modular Wind Energy's facilities in order to confirm systems were up to standard and fully compliant.
Achieving ISO 9001 certification means that Modular Wind Energy was benchmarked against other mature businesses and found to have a best-in-class quality system. Certification is often viewed as a requirement to do business in the renewable energy sector.
"We recognise that building a quality, process-based business is a journey and believe we have the right organisation and certification agency to ensure we continue to challenge ourselves to get better every day," said Ken Kaser, Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations.
ISO 9001 is a worldwide standard administered by the International Organization for Standardisation (ISO), based in Switzerland. ISO 9001 is currently in use by close to one million organisations around the world.
