The Easiest Way to Reduce Your Plastic Waste
Aug 31 2017
The fact that plastic pollution is becoming a severe problem is common knowledge, but most of us feel helpless when it comes to finding solutions how to fight it.
Plastic is present in many forms in our everyday lives and it is hard to imagine life without it. Our electronic applications contain plastic, the food we buy is wrapped in plastic and many time even the clothes we wear or partially, if not entirely, out of plastic. Would it be even possible to exclude plastics from our lives entirely?
It is possible, but it takes a great deal of effort. Those who carry on a plastic free life have to spend time on finding the right stores and the right products, have to come up with ways to substitute plastic and often have to spend more on the environmentally friendly products. If you can’t imagine yourself bringing such a big sacrifice for this matter there are countless easy ways to reduce your plastic and avoiding bottled water is one of them.
On average, in the UK we drink almost 40 liters of bottled water a year and this number has been growing constantly. This means that all together we drink 2,6 billion liters annually and this contributes strongly to the 15 million plastic bottles we generate every day. Take a look at the following infographic to find out more on what hidden costs a bottled water has! Changing to tap water won’t seem like a sacrifice afterward...
