Revolutionary water cleaning system comes to the UK
Jun 25 2015
Frog environmental is bringing the Canadian Clearflow water quality improvement and pollution reduction system to the UK next month.
Developed with the Canadian Environment Assessment Agency, the Clearflow system uses organic, non-toxic compounds found in drinking water to remove suspended solids and contaminants attached to fine soil and sediment particles.
The revolutionary system has already been successfully deployed in Canada across a wide range of industries, including the removal of chlorides at a road-salting vehicle wash-point, recycling onsite water at a remote coal mine and tackling algal blooms at a golf course.
Leela O’Dea, Technical Director for frog environmental, explains: “We are delighted to be bringing this fantastic new environmentally-friendly water cleaning system to the UK, which performs efficiently and cost-effectively across a broad range of industries and environmental conditions.
“Clearflow has been designed to meet the highest environmental regulations and standards, and is able to bind soil and sediment particles together in both aquatic and terrestrial environments.
“It is non-toxic to both aquatic and terrestrial life, it does not persist in the environment or groundwater and it reduces water and energy use by up to 90 per cent.
“It can remove contaminants, including nitrogen, phosphorus, metals and hydrocarbons and offers a versatile range of silt control products that can be used to manage soil, sediments and water quality in a river catchment, as well as in industrial water treatment processes and dust control on construction sites.”
Frog environmental will launch the Clearflow system to the UK market with a presentation and series of practical demonstrations at its ‘Managing Wetlands, Rivers & Sediments Workshop’ on 8 July 2015.
