IWJS Completes DSS Environmental Acquisition
Oct 05 2011
The acquisition of the UK’s West Midlands-based DSS Environmental has greatly enhanced IWJS’s existing strong position in the industrial cleaning and waste management industry.
This move will see increased numbers of depots and services. DSS Environmental brings specialist knowledge in drain lining to IWJS, alongside its own jetting and tankering services.
Christopher Stewart, IWJS Group Managing Director, is excited about the future opportunities, and feels this acquisition confirms the intent of the IWJS Group to grow its UK business:
"Alongside the acquisition of DSS Environmental, IWJS has been investing heavily in equipment, vehicles and staff. This is a phased investment programme to keep the IWJS Group at the forefront of the latest technology available, while maintaining its key position as one of the leading businesses within the industrial cleaning and waste management industry.”
The senior management team have continued to invest heavily by adding more specialist equipment to the fleet, enabling the expanding customer base to be looked after in the expected professional and efficient manner.
A £4m investment programme, in addition to the acquisition, has already resulted in the delivery of two JHL Flexline vehicles, with further specialist vehicles scheduled for delivery throughout the rest of 2011.
The IWJS group now has 7 locations across the UK, including sites in Brighton, Lincoln and the company’s headquarters in Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk.
IWJS leads the sector in the use of high pressure water jetting for cleaning tunnels, drains, sewers, interceptors, tanks, pumping stations, sewage treatment tanks, canals and waterways.
The Group currently holds 5 utility contracts offering unrivalled levels of service and flexibility.
An important sector benefiting from this investment programme has been the CCTV businesses.
IWJS has keenly developed and deployed the latest technology and this is a rapidly growing part of the group. IWJS has captured the majority of the UK’s tunnel cleaning business by developing and operating bespoke vehicle-mounted tunnel cleaning machines.
