New Environmental Range includes Pollution Prevention and Spill Clean-Up Products
Jun 25 2014
Seddons (Plant & Engineers) Ltd (UK) has significantly expanded its product range to include some of the most innovative pollution prevention and spill clean-up products available today.
The company has partnered with Capture Green Environmental Solutions to exclusively bring Green Rhino products to market. The premium Green Rhino products incorporate unique polymer technology, offering a state-of-the-art yet cost-effective solution to pollution prevention. They contain polymers which transform hydrocarbons such as oil, diesel and petrol into a rubber-like solid within minutes, preventing the release of contaminated water or hazardous fluids into the workplace or local environment.
The showcase product in the polymers range is the Green Rhino EnviroPad which presents a revolutionary method of spill containment. Designed to replace traditional drip trays and absorbent products, the EnviroPad utilises sophisticated polymer technology to retain spills and drips when using or storing plant, tools or fuel containers. Unlike any other product available on the market, it ‘locks in’ hydrocarbons, solidifying and immobilising hazardous fluids into a dry, solid mass, helping organisations to avoid prosecution and heavy environmental fines for contaminated ground water.
The EnviroPad is available in three sizes and large items of plant can be easily wheeled or placed onto it. It is lightweight and can be easily rolled and stored away when not in use. Once completely solidified, the EnviroPad can simply be disposed of into standard hazardous waste bins.
The Green Rhino range also includes Spill Kits of various capacities from 15 litres - 220 litres which enable emergency response to oil, chemical and hazardous fluid spills in the working environment, plus Filtration Systems designed for use by the utilities sector when pumping and dewatering trenches, manholes, bunds and excavations. Green Rhino Filters remove contaminants that could otherwise pollute navigable water or drainage systems.
The Green Rhino Filters range extends from the Budget Sediment Filter, an entry level filter for removing sediment on smaller jobs, to the Oil and Sediment Filter, a multiple use filter which retains 20kg of sediment, 2.5 litres of oil and removes sediment and oil sheen down to 100 microns.
Neil Beswick, Business Development Director at Seddons (Plant & Engineers) Ltd said: “We’ve introduced the Green Rhino range following 18 months of consultation and testing with Capture Green Environmental Solutions. Companies can be fined tens of thousands of pounds for water pollution or other pollution incidents and Green Rhino products provide organisations with a viable means of complying with stringent environmental legislation without running the risk of financial penalties being imposed.
“The EnviroPad in particular has created a huge amount of interest amongst our customer base. We’ve already had several orders placed from construction contractors and plant and tool hire companies looking to introduce them into their fleet of equipment,” he continued.
