Trojan Technologies Expands Drinking Water UV Disinfection Product Line

Aug 31 2011

In May, Trojan Technologies announced the expansion of their TrojanUVSwift™SC UV disinfection product line with the introduction of two new system sizes – the TrojanUVSwift™SC D03 and D18. The addition of the new sizes enables Trojan to provide drinking water treatment facilities with additional sizing options to meet both disinfection and certification requirements for a broader range of water treatment plants.

The TrojanUVSwiftSC uses high-efficiency, high output UV lamps and is designed for compact installation and easy maintenance. It has been providing cost-effective, multi-barrier protection to municipalities around the world since 2002. The D03 and D18 now offer D-series advantages to small- and mid-size water treatment plants seeking flexible UV solutions to accomplish disinfection treatment requirements.

“These new units enable Trojan to more closely tailor our TrojanUVSwiftSC solution to a wider range of water treatment plant sizes and are fully validated to both DVGW, ONORM, and USEPA protocols,” says Adam Festger, Drinking Water market manager, Trojan Technologies. “Multi-barrier treatment using UV provides significantly greater community safety and peace of mind for municipalities.” Trojan’s systems provide cost-effective protection to safeguard drinking water against virtually all microorganisms, including chlorine-resistant Cryptosporidium and Giardia.

Learn more about the benefits of the TrojanSwiftSC, see our latest YouTube video interview with Adam Festger about during the ACE11 conference in June 2011.

The TrojanUVSwiftSC product line offers:

• Full bioassay validation to the rigorous requirements of DVGW, USEPA, and ONORM protocols
• Reduced reliance on chemicals with environmentally-friendly UV
• Treatment for flow rates ranging from 0.6 to 2430 m3/hr
• Reduced maintenance costs and improved sleeve cleanliness with automatic sleeve wiping systems that operate while the system is online
• Effective disinfection with no dependence on temperature
• Reduced lamp count and compact footprint accomplished through the use of Trojan’s high efficiency, high output lamps
• Inactivation of chlorine-resistant pathogens without the formation of disinfection by-products
• Intuitive, at-a-glance system status reporting from the user-friendly digital controller

Designed to meet the needs of large and small communities, the TrojanUVSwiftSC incorporates energy-efficient, low-pressure high-output lamps. The lamps and sleeves are fully serviceable from one side – allowing the system to be installed tight to walls, other equipment or piping. Our automatic wiping systems minimize fouling of the quartz sleeves and allow the system to operate while the lamps are disinfecting, thereby reducing downtime.
