New Date Announced for 2013 Show

The 2013 edition of Water Expo China + Water Membrane China, China’s first water business exhibition will be held 2 – 4 December 2013 at the China National Convention Center, Beijing, China.

Organised by Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co Ltd, the Chinese Hydraulic Engineering Society (CHES) and the Membrane Industry Association of China (MIAC), the three day show is approved by China’s Ministry of Commerce and Ministry of Science and Technology, and sponsored by the Ministry of Water Resources.

In addition, Water Expo China + Water Membrane China is supported by a number of eminent government ministries and organisations who recognise the show as the first water business exhibition and a government approved event where exhibitors and visitors can meet with key government decision makers, collect valuable market information and network with industry peers. The event is also a key for meeting new agents and distributors and connecting with existing business associates.

Commenting on the show Mr Jason Cao, Senior General Manager for Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd said: “Water Expo China + Water Membrane China is highly regarded by an increasing number of industry experts. This was reflected in the record number of exhibitors and visitors who attended the 2012 show. We had 398 exhibitors from 21 countries and regions. The visitor number was 23,816 from 36 countries and regions, boosted by 50 domestic and international delegations.”

In relation to the number of exhibitors and visitors expected at the 2013 show Mr You Jinde, Secretary General of MIAC added: “As a result of promotional plan for 2013, we are expecting to attract many more exhibitors and visitors from all water sectors. We are estimating that there will be 500 exhibitors from 23 countries and 35,000 visitors from 38 countries.”

Mr Li Zantang, Secretary General of the Chinese Hydraulic Engineering Society commented that government policy was in line with the show’s objectives, making it a popular choice for exhibitors. He explained: “To better protect water sources, impose a cap on water consumption, promote water recycling and build a water-conserving society, the 18th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) National Congress proposed the “Making Great Efforts to Promote Ecological Progress” policy in November 2012.”

Among the 2012 exhibitors was the Association of Irrigation & Drainage Enterprise (AIC) from China. For the 2013 show they have decided to increase their booth size from 1,000 sqm to 3,000 sqm.

AIC is a national irrigation industry association representing irrigation & drainage enterprises, associated universities & institutes and academic organisations. It is administrated by the Bureau of Synthetically Issues, the Ministry of Water Resources and acts
as a bridge between irrigation enterprises and government associated departments as well other associated organisations.

Already organisers of the national and regional pavilions are expressing interest in the 2013 show and pavilions are expected from Austria, Denmark, Europe, Germany, Japan, Korea, Taiwan Region and the United States.

Once again for the 2013 show there will be a strong line-up of events with more than 55 onsite conference sessions conferences, forums and presentations focusing on water industry policy, planning, design, operation and business opportunities.
