This vision dubbed the IRIS programme is a five-year project that came to fruition in 2015 with the completion of the cornerstone project, the replacement of one of the UK's oldest telemetry systems. This system consisted of 6,500 operational sites, over 12,000 telemetry outstations, 639,090 measuring / monitoring points, 30,000 mimics, 1,200 users, and two main data centers.
