Granite Performance by Bespoke Pumps
Jul 09 2013
High viscosity, high temperatures and a very hard to handle resin can’t stop Börger’s (Germany) pumps from proving a resounding success at famous sink manufacturer Carron Phoenix.
Börger’s bespoke solution saw its ATEX-approved pumps designed with special pressurised intermediate chambers and numerous intricate features in order to handle the highly challenging application.
Iain Constable, Projects Engineer at Falkirk-based Carron Phoenix, said: “We undertook a very lengthy selection process to find a suitable replacement for pumps we initially had that couldn’t cope with the resin in our granite sink manufacturing. It has all been worth it because the Börger pumps work extremely well and are very easy to service”.
He added: “We benefitted from good communication throughout with Börger, who have gone out of their way to provide us with a highly tailored, long-term pumping solution”.
Best known for its stylish sinks and taps, The Carron Company’s roots date back to its days as an iron foundry in 1759, going on to drive the industrial revolution in Scotland to a point where it employed 5000 people, operated its own fleet of steam ships and even issued its own currency for global trading.
