The patented plug-type system VAG TERRA lock for house connections from VAG (Germany) has been available on the market for two years. The idea for a plug-type fitting has been developed into a multi-functional system over the past two years. The VAG TERRA lock System provides a number of options for producing house connections quickly and simply in the case of new installations, renovations and in restricted spaces.

The basic idea for connecting the system components was born in the modification of the well known, tried and tested VAG BAIO plus bayonet plug-type connection. The resulting improved VAG TERRA lock plug-type connection technology with a flexible safety ring for connecting all the system components offers the advantage of fast, easy, threadless mounting by hand when making house connections in pipe trenches.

The individual components are all designed as sturdy cast parts, making them ideal for robust installation operations in pipe trenches. The all-round Epoxy powder coating provides maximum corrosion protection, thus guaranteeing a long life expectancy in underground installations. The rotatability of plug-type connection technology makes installation in pipe trenches much easier. House connections are absolutely secure and bendable, and they can be subsequently rotated.

The diverse range of options for combining the system components makes it possible to lay new house connections when the service pipelines are made of cast iron or steel, or in the case of PVC and polyethylene pipes by external drilling with a tapping machine. Various types of connection fittings give operators a choice between a robust plug-type connection with the VAG TERRA lock plug-type fitting or a socket welding joint with the VAG TERRA lock PE weld-on fitting.

Special connecting parts for the supply line and renovation fittings with long slip-on sleeves make the system ideal for the subsequent renovation of existing house connections. Installation problems can be solved safely even in confined spaces with pipes that run parallel to one another in pipe trenches. For example by using a VAG TERRA lock M2 Tapping Bridge with a low outlet in the pipe centreline directly above the soffit and with an additional elbow.
