Axflow Introduces the King Cobra from Wilden

Jan 14 2009

Heavy duty peristaltic hose pumps are a proven pumping solution where abrasive, viscous and aggressive media are encountered. AxFlow is now addressing these applications with Wilden`s latest offering the King Cobra.

Capable of handling fluids with a maximum viscosity of 40,000cP and flow rates up to 18.2m³/h, the King Cobra is a seal-free design pump available in sizes from 10mm to 65mm. Offering a suction lift capability of up to 9m and suitable for pressures of up to 15bar, this robust cast iron and stainless steel construction pump is perfect for dosing applications where a higher discharge pressure is required.

King Cobra`s simple seal-free design means that it has a run-dry capability and eliminates any potential leak points. Furthermore, it is easy to operate and requires very little maintenance.

Peter Carfrae, AxFlow`s Wilden Pump Manager reports that the King Cobra can be configured with either a fixed speed gear motor drive or a variable speed frequency inverter. “When specifying the motor and gear reducer, the specific operating parameters must be considered as rpm and horsepower are critical factors,” comments Peter Carfrae. “This is an area where AxFlow`s considerable experience in providing fluid handling systems can be invaluable.”

Industries where the King Cobra`s capabilities can have an impact include industrial and municipal water treatment, mining, filter press equipment, nuclear processing, paints and coatings, chemicals and food processing. The introduction of the Wilden King Cobra is a significant addition to AxFlow`s product range and widens the company`s fluid handing capabilities in industry sectors where AxFlow has a major presence.
